Havana South Cuban Restaurant & Bar: A Taste of Authentic Cuban Cuisine in Buford

Update 12/29/23- gave oxtails another try. This time they gave a lot in the entrepreneur. I didn't mention my disappointment from last time. I did prefer the sauce from the last time but I couldn't complain abt the portions. I am posting photo below. Still 4 stars for me but service here was amazing. There is no bar but that's ok, I came to eat not drink. Coffee con Leche was amazing and creamy! The food was amazing as well as service. I gave 4 stars vs 5 stars because I felt my oxtail meal was very small. I had only 2 oxtails (both big size but only one had meat on it the other one was entirely fat about 90% of it) I didn't realize it until I got home to eat the left over one. Kinda pricy to spend $25, and get cheated on portion. Other than that empanadas were perfect as was rice and red beans were yummy. My hubby loved his chicken dish! I would definitely return but prob wouldn't order oxtails unless they can guarantee both pieces have meat on it. (It tasted so good! Wish the other one had meat though!) I love that they have bottle cokes that was so cool! I will make my video reel and post soon on Tik tok and IG! Hidden gem you must give them a try!

Came across this place while traveling, and I’m so glad I did! I haven’t had authentic food like this since I moved from Florida. The service was incredibly fast, and the food—absolutely amazing! Their fruit juices are phenomenal too! I’m sorry I forgot to take a “before” picture—the food looked so good I couldn’t resist diving right in! But don’t just take my word for it—just look at my empty plate. I barely left a few grains of rice behind, and that’s only because I couldn’t pick them up with a fork. That’s how delicious everything was. The seasoning was spot on!

This food is good! It’s fresh, well seasoned, and it’s served with a smile. I enjoy taking my family here. It’s one of those places where we know we won’t be let down. The experience is good every time!

Authentic Cuban food. The restaurant is very casual. The food is the real deal. The cuban coffee is just like my Cuban mom makes it. Loved it. Agustín took care of us, even cut some lemons and helps us make a quick stomach pain home remedy for my son who wasn't felling well. We all left extremely happy and full. Sorry but ate everything before taking any pictures :)

Stopped by here for lunch when returning home. There were not so many people since it was the start of the lunch hour. I ended up ordering their lunch special of the day which was small bistec topped with grilled onions with a side of rice, tostones and black beans. I also ordered Havana special mix drink that came out exactly as it was pictured! The server was very nice and gave me advice to mix the drink to bring all the flavors together which it certainly did. Overall, a good experience with excellent food and service.

Food was good appetizers and Cuban sandwiches were delicious. Rice was a bit plain though. Alex was nice and provided good service. Only reason for 4 stars was the restaurant was supposed to open at 12 and instead opened 45 minutes late. We waited and were about to leave before an employee open the restaurant

We love Cuban food! I dont know why it took so long for us to try this restaurant but the food here was so much better than the more popular ones. Food was fresh, authentic and flavorful. This is gonna be our go to Cuban restaurant from now!

A hidden gem! Don't sleep on this place; it is amazing. Great food and atmosphere. I had the snapper and my friend had thebpaella. The servings are generous and the flavor is wonderful. Going to come back for lunch and try their coffee.
